Perissa

With Kamari, Perissa is one of the most popular beach of Santorini.
It is very cosmopolite and it has a beautiful long black beach with many good tavernas.
On the east side, it rises the peak of Mesa Vounò (that means "rock in the middle") that separates the village of Perissa from Kamari. On the mountaintop, at 356 meters over the sea, there is the archeological site of Ancient Thera built in the VIII century B.C. and discovered by the German archeologist Hiller von Gartringen
