Monolithos
The village of Monolithos (in Greek "one rock") is named
after the rocky formation that comes lonely out from the plain.
It is one of the most ancient outcrop of the island and it dates
back to the first stages of the evolution of Santorini terrain.
On the hillside it stands the tiny white church of Agios
Ioannis and all around you can often see mules and goats
browsing in the meadows.
It is next to Kamari and within easy
reach to Santorini airport. Monolithos has a a quiet broad beach
with all the comforts: beach bar, umbrellas, sun beds, sea
sports, a playground and a volleyball area, and taverns are
available.
